Jill studied photography and has a BFA from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and an MFA from the University of Nebraska. She moved to Chicago in 1996, worked in the photography industry while teaching part-time at Columbia College. With the onset of digital photography she missed the feeling of creating things with her hands and working in the darkroom. She took ceramics classes and was a studio assistant at the Evanston Art Center for ten years before she joined the Midwest Clay Guild where she has her current studio.
Jill exhibits her ceramic work nationwide and has been included in shows at James May Gallery, Red Lodge Clay Center, AKAR Design, LillStreet Art Center, The Clay Studio in Philadelphia, Baltimore Clayworks, Texas Tech University and many others.
Jill lives in Evanston, IL with her husband and their two cats, Mochi and Strüdel. She works full time for Getty Images as a research editor.
